AI for teachers: assessment, feedback and lesson planning

PedagogBuddy helps you work with student responses based on your assignment and criteria. Here you will find practical approaches to assessment and lesson planning. The tool is developed for Swedish schools; the translation does not change the criteria, the school's responsibilities or prices in Swedish kronor.

Assess student responses using clear criteria

Start with the assignment and what the student needs to demonstrate. Paste in a student response and ask for evidence for each criterion. For example, in a history assignment, distinguish between mentioning a cause and explaining a causal relationship. AI provides suggestions; you review the quotations and make the final decision.

Formative assessment that supports progress

Formative assessment connects the student's current understanding to the next step. For example, replace the general comment 'develop your reasoning' with 'explain why the cause leads to the consequence and give an example'. Feedback should be actionable, not just describe what is missing.

Assessment rubrics and feedback on student writing

Use your own assessment rubric to make expectations clear. In Premium and Pro, you can upload the rubric as a PDF. Check that the evidence comes from the student's writing, distinguish the student's claims from your interpretation and indicate when there is insufficient evidence.

Lesson planning with AI

Describe the subject, year group, time available and objectives. For example: photosynthesis in Year 7, in a 50-minute lesson with an introduction, a paired activity and a closing question. Lesson planning is included in Free. Adapting materials to different needs is included in Premium and Pro; always review the plan before teaching.

Handwritten tests and source comparison

You can photograph tests and check the transcription before analysis. Remove names if you want to keep the material de-identified. Pro can compare student responses with source texts you provide yourself. A text match is something to review, never automatic proof of cheating, and the comparison is not a search of the entire web.
